COUNTRY legend Moe Bandy will exchange Nashville for Tralee next month when the artist plays the Earl of Desmond Hotel.
Boasting the seven-piece Americana band, the show on Sunday, April 2, features the many hits that made him famous.
The Kerry audience can expect to hear him belt out some of his greatest hits, including Americana, It’s A Cheatin’ Situation and Good Ol’ Boys.
Not only that, but the musicians involved have won a reputation for their virtuoso performance of the gamut of musical styles from bluegrass to classical.
Moe was a sheet metal worker in Adkins, Texas, when he had the dream of becoming a world-class entertainer. He was extremely popular throughout the 1970s, turning out a series of hits in the latter half of the decade that brought him acclaim as one of the great honky tonk singers.
He churned out hits during the early 1980s also and his theatre in Branson, Missouri continued to draw the crowds.
Bandy continued to have top ten hits, including “Till I’m Too Old to Die Young (1987) and Americana (1988), which became presidential candidate George Bush’s campaign theme song.
Bandy played Bush’s Presidential Inauguration, as well as playing the White House twice in 1989.
